At HERSKIND we embrace responsibility through our thoughtful selection of high quality fabrics and materials.
Where possible, we prioritize using mulesing-free wool, organic cotton, recycled polyester, and FSC-certified viscose. At the same time, we are committed to minimizing overproduction in order to reduce our environmental impact.
OEKO TEX
OEKO-TEX® is an independent certification system ensuring textiles are free from harmful substances and produced in an environmentally friendly and socially responsible manner.
Organic cotton
Organic cotton refers to cotton that is grown without the use of synthetic pesticides, genetically modified organisms (GMOs).
EcoVero & FSC Viscose
The responsible production process of ECOVERO™ fibers uses at least 50% less water and emits at least 50% less CO2 compared to generic viscose fibers, according to Higg MSI, thereby saving precious resources for future generations. FSC is a non-profit organization, providing trusted solutions to help safeguard the world’s forests and tackle today’s deforestation, climate, and biodiversity challenges.
Recycled Materials
Recycled materials offer a more responsible solution for fashion, and they play a crucial role in reducing waste and minimizing our environmental impact. Recycled wool, polyester, and nylon are some of the key materials.
Mulesing Free
Mulesing Free means prioritizing the well-being of sheep by embracing gentle and compassionate practices. Our commitment to animal welfare ensures that sheep are spared from the stress and pain of undergoing painful surgical procedures.
